As a PhD student in the Department of History at the
University of Arizona, my research interests include Modern Latin American History with an
emphasis in nineteenth century Mexico. The topic of my doctoral dissertation is the
development in the firefighting brigade in Mexico City during the Porfiriato
(1876-1911). My academic career has been enriched through professional
experiences such as interning at the Woodrow Wilson International Center for
Scholars, attending classes at the Universidad de las Américas and the
Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla in Mexico, and gaining teaching
experience as a Graduate Teaching Assistant for courses about Modern Mexican
History and the Sonoran Desert. I received my Bachelor's degree in History
at California State University, Chico and my Master's degree in Latin
American Studies at the University of Arizona.
